Fanarts in Deathberry

ansfair:

Okaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy so we found another fanart by Pikeish-sama, originally Deathberry’s calendar, posted in here aka outside Deathberry.

As you know, if you’re a Deathberry forum member, you should have know the rules. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REPOST ANY FANARTS OR ANYTHING FROM THERE EXCEPT THE OWNER GAVE YOU PERMISSION. The owners/admins clearly announced that when the FC thread are closed for certain members. Even Pikeish-sama, the artist herself already announced that she doesn’t want any of her arts going outside Deathberry. To see it happened again AFTER closing the FC? Dear God…

Since the announcement in the forum source itself didn’t really help, I decided to post this. All by myself. It’s pissing me off that some people we trust didn’t appreciate our wishes. It’s not about fandom=sharing. It’s about fandom must learn to respect so we can share. It’s not all in internet is free to be shared.

I always think that it’s definitely okay if fanartists (especially with God drawing skill like Pikeish-sama) that are not respected, to stop sharing their arts because fandom loves to share without crediting, even edited/cropped those arts without permission. So why should they draw, taking long time for their drawing, then share it only to be “appreciated” like that?

Crediting the fanartists is useless when you don’t even respect their wish. If they said “Do not repost elsewhere.” means DON’T. You can’t hide behind “I credited them!” Can’t fandom just keep those fanarsts and enjoy it yourself? You wanna share it? Just give other people the link! What’s so hard sharing without reposting? IT’S FAR EASIER THAN YOU HAVE TO EDIT AND UPLOAD THEM.

No wonder lots of Japanese fanartists closed their blogs and stop sharing fanarts. ( -__-)

I don’t know what’s the next thing Deathberry admins will do about this now that they know not all of its member can be trusted.
